Conkram (コンクラム, Konkuramu) is a location in Legend of Legaia. Once a territory of great wealth and prestige, it became an embodiment of the true horrors of the Mist as the place itself turned into a living, breathing Seru.

"This is Conkram? What a horrible place! Look at this evil, everyone! This is not the work of humans!"

- Gala

Conkram worldmap

Located in the North Karisto Mountains, Conkram was world-renowned for its beauty and prosperity. Its close proximity to the thick Mist coming from the Absolute Fortress enabled a clam-like Seru inside it to grow rapidly and fuse with the entire town, along with its inhabitants. Hidden by mountains surrounding it as well as abundant Mist, few have seen it in this state. Accessing Conkram is only possible by those capable of flight due to the disappearance of a mountain pass leading to Conkram once the Mist appeared.

Conkram in the Mist[]

Before the Mist covers Legaia, a local outbreak of Mist occurs in Conkram during a demonstration that goes awry. Intending to use it as a weapon of war for their soldiers against the rival Solians, Conkram's young nobleman Cort and its Court Scientist Jette can only watch as the Mist Generator blows up and covers all of Conkram, turning many into shambling monsters and causing the Seru to go berserk and slaughter humans. Due to the deeds of three young travelers, the Mist dissipates and Conkram is saved. Conkram's ruler King Nebular commands that Mist-related research be terminated immediately, but Cort and the Four Wise Men see promise in the Mist and conspire to further analyze it in secret, using a Rogue Fragment that escapes through the portal the Mist poured out of.

Soon after Queen Minea gives birth to Noa, the Mist suddenly begins to flow into Conkram. Having already seen the horrors of the Mist, Conkram's populace immediately begin to get rid of their Seru and barricade themselves inside their homes as Seru monsters and Seru begin to slaughter them once more. A clam-like Seru that is left behind after the initial outbreak also begins to grow rapidly with its exposure to the Mist. Minea flees to the highest balcony of the palace and summons one of the Soren to escort Noa to safety. She can only watch as the Soren carries Noa away before she returns downstairs to share her fate with the rest of Conkram. It is not long before the clam-like Seru fuses with the all the terrain, buildings, and people of Conkram.

Ra-Seru Heroes Enter Conkram[]

People fused to the walls

Vahn, Noa and Gala reach the Seru town during their search to destroy the final Mist Generator. They discover that the town itself is a gigantic Seru, which pulsates and quivers, fused with buildings as well as still-living people who have gone mad due to the Mist and the constant pain. They enter the palace and find Noa's mother, Queen Minea. Due to her love for Noa, she has retained her sanity, but the poison of the Mist has left her blind. Minea tells the trio that the entrance into the Absolute Fortress cannot be forced open without an item called the Nemesis Gem, but unfortunately there are none left in the world. She sends them to the basement of Conkram's royal palace to see King Nebular, who initially believes he is dreaming when he senses Noa in front of him. Upon realizing it is really her, he expresses shame that his own daughter would see him in such a condition. King Nebular gives them the Seru Flame and urges them to leave.

The Ra-Seru heroes use the Seru Flame in the Room of Mirrors to open a time portal created by the energy of the Seru feeding on Conkram. Before journeying to past Conkram, the Ra-Seru tell them not to reveal the future to anyone as it would only cause chaos that would benefit the Mist and its allies. After witnessing the birth of the Mist and driving it away from Conkram, they obtain a Nemesis Gem from Nebular as a reward for their heroics. Before returning to the present, Noa comes to the realization that the creator of the Mist, Cort, is her older brother.

After returning with the Nemesis Gem, Queen Minea admits to Noa that Cort is her brother, and that two Seru were left in Conkram after the incident. One was the Seru that engulfed Conkram, and the other was a fragment of an evil Rogue that left Cort and his followers with incredible knowledge, awakening his evil ambitions. Noa encourages her mother that they will be together again someday and Minea leaves Noa with the words "I love you."

Conkram's Demise[]

Conkram remains

Vahn, Noa and Gala stand on top of Conkram's shell.

After the Ra-Seru heroes destroy the Absolute Fortress, they return to Conkram expecting to see a revived town, but only come across a barren mountain. Ozma states that the Mist from the Absolute Fortress made the Seru engulfing it grow too large and unstable, so cutting off the Mist it fed on caused it to die, along with everyone that had been fused with it. After some time, the barren mountain where Conkram used to be is covered in grass with two flowers sprouting at the top.

Location[]

Conkram is located to the north on Legaia's eastern continent, protected by mountains immediately south of it.
